Who We Are
Akimbo Technologies Inc. is a dynamic Canadian start-up dedicated to creating innovative solutions that push the limits of cybersecurity. We've developed an intrusion-tolerant system that applies our patented Fault-Tolerant Distributed Computing (FTDC) to dynamically detect, correct and HEAL cyberattacks in real-time, delivering no false positives or negatives, and without relying on a cloud connection.
Akimbo’s core market is the defense industry, and specifically military marine vessels and combat vehicles. Akimbo’s secondary target markets include commercial sectors such as container ships, port authorities, passenger cars and autonomous vehicles and ships. Ideal partners in these markets are companies that service and retrofit existing fleets and/or design architectures and systems for future marine vessels and land vehicles.

Our Team
Behrouz Poustchi
Founder, Director & CEO/ CTO

Behrouz has founded several technology companies and has over 35 years of diverse experience within the technology realm. During Behrouz’s tenure as a business leader, he has raised multiple rounds of financing and, as CTO, successfully exited Nimcat Networks with a 5X return for investors. Behrouz has won numerous awards for his expertise and has participated in and pioneered multiple patents for a variety of processes and applications. He is a proven thought leader and a visionary, and his cumulative business and technical experience combine to make him ideally suited to provide strong leadership and to guide Akimbo’s business model.
Rod Weir
Chief Revenue Officer

For over 35 years, Rod has been a sales professional in technology and software companies. Rod's experience spans sales, sales management, business development and sales leadership positions in large established organizations, VC-backed startups, as well as bootstrapped companies. In Rod’s most recent role as VP of Sales at Easy Projects, he led the company to the Canada Growth 500 list three years in row (2018, 2019, 2020). In his spare time, Rod volunteers as a mentor with the Ivey Business School faculty at the University Of Western Ontario. Rod’s extensive sales experience and leadership will help Akimbo flourish in the global military and transportation markets.
Lance Davis
Chief Financial Officer

For over 30 years Lance has been providing “virtual CFO services” into the BC technology sector. Lance has extensive experience in in dealing with government funding programs. He has personally directed and/or participated in the submission of over 25 separate SR&ED (Scientific and Experimental Development) claims and over a dozen IDMTC BC Interactive Digital Media tax credit claims with a cumulative value of over $25M. Lance is currently a Director and Treasurer of Digi BC, a non- profit organization which was largely responsible for the implementation of the current BC Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit program and which represents and evangelizes the BC technology sector.
Jean-Philippe Lemieux
Director of Development

Jean-Philippe has over 15 years of software development and architecture experience in a broad array of environments, including: automotive CAN, game engine networking, mobile, embedded systems, distributed programming, real-time programming, VoIP applications, and image processing. Prior to working at Akimbo, Jean-Philippe worked on IoT security prototypes, and led international and remote teams writing Android apps, including a secure electronic wallet. At Akimbo Technologies, Jean-Philippe has architected the Fault-Tolerant Distributed Computing system for real time error detection and corrections. He has been following the hacker world with intensive enthusiasm and brings a wealth of security knowledge into developing reliable products for intrusion-tolerant networks.
Massoud (Mac) Poustchi
Vice President - Marketing

Mac Poustchi is the VP of Marketing at Akimbo where he is responsible for all online and offline marketing activities including communicating the unique benefits of our DEFENSA cybersecurity software to our stakeholders/partners. Prior to taking on his role at Akimbo, Mac held senior marketing positions at several multi-national companies working across various industries. Most recently, Mac founded and actively managed ExpoSorted.com, a company engaged in the exhibitions and events market space and with a specific focus on the pharmaceutical industry.
Klaus Munch Kjøller
Member of Board of Advisors - Defense & Security

Klaus is a dedicated Defence & Security Advisor based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a wealth of experience in the field. With a career spanning 28 years and counting, he has had the privilege of contributing to various aspects of the military sector. His roles, both as a Staff Officer Lieutenant Colonel at the Royal Danish Defense College and as a Member of the Akimbo Board of Advisors, have provided him with unique insights into strategic and professional development, military expertise, training, teaching, and research and development. He currently holds the position of Associate Partner at PA Consulting in Copenhagen.
